Born in 1881 in Austria and died in 1942 in Brazil, Stefan Zweig was an Austrian writer, playwright, journalist and biographer. He left Austria for London in 1934 because of the rise of Nazism, then took refuge in Brazil where he committed suicide. He is the author of numerous biographies: Marie Stuart, Marie Antoinette, Balzac... He also wrote novels, essays, poetry, and theater. His extremely rich work has marked literature. |
