Born in 1971 in Luçon, François Bégaudeau is a French writer, literary critic, screenwriter, singer, actor and director. He became a teacher in 1994, then an editor at Cahiers du cinéma in 2003. He has written many books in various genres: novels, essays, comics, theater ... He received the France Culture-Télérama prize in 2006 for his novel Entre les murs and the César for best adaptation in 2009 for the film adaptation of this book.
