Born in 1969 in New York, Colson Whitehead is an American writer. He became a journalist after graduating from Harvard in 1991. He is the author of a dozen novels, and is one of the few writers to have won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Fiction twice, in 2017 with Underground Railroad and in 2020 with Nickel Boys.
